Booking Policy

Securing a date requires a $200 deposit (via bank transfer) with the remaining balance due 30 days before your wedding day. If you would like to proceed, please fill out the contact form and I’ll additionally need to know:

  • Your name, and your partner’s name

  • Your venue

  • Your chosen package

  • Anticipated start-time, e.g. your official ceremony time

Upon receiving those details, I will e-mail you a booking contract that you’ll need to accept online. You’ll receive a deposit invoice to finalize your booking! Please note that your date is only secured on receipt of the deposit.

All other logistic details (list of songs, final timings, etc.) will be discussed in the weeks leading up to your wedding day.

Wedding FAQ’s

These are some of the most frequently asked questions by prospective brides and grooms. If you have any other questions for me, please feel free to get in touch!

  • If your venue doesn’t have its own piano, I am able to provide a full live setup including my very own white/champagne-colored Casio Privia portable electric piano at no extra cost. Convenient benefits include portability, no tuning required, and ability to set volume! Please note your venue will need to have parking available on-site if I am providing my own piano.

  • I usually arrive 1 hour before the start of the performance. It doesn’t take me all of this time to set up, but I prefer to have buffer time, just to get settled with a proper sound-check.

  • I would prefer at least 2 meters x 2 meters for the piano, my bench, and amp.

I am usually happy to work out the best location of the piano on the day with your wedding planner, based on space, access, availability of power, etc.

  • Absolutely, I love playing outdoors if the weather allows! I simply request that there is a back-up plan in the event of rain (e.g. moving indoors, or positioning the piano under a covered area). On particularly hot days, it’s also preferable to be under some shade so that the electrics (and pianist!) don’t overheat.

My piano requires access to a power supply, so an outdoor socket or the ability to run power from a nearby building would be required. Also, some venues have licensing restrictions on allowing amplified music outdoors, so please do check this with your venue to make sure they are happy.

  • If you need the piano to be moved between areas (e.g. from ceremony venue to cocktail reception), this is possible and takes only ~15 minutes to reposition and reconnect everything, if the areas are near each other. I may just kindly ask a willing volunteer from the venue or wedding party to assist with the move, as it requires two people to carry the piano once it’s been put together.

  • Absolutely! I have a current repertoire of 100+ songs, but I am also very accommodating to learn a request (up to 3 songs) that you’d like to hear that’s not already on my list. I’ll verify that it’s playable on piano, but I find that the majority of popular songs can be arranged on the piano.

Please feel free to let me know your song requests at least a couple of months before the wedding so that I have ample time to arrange and ensure it sounds great for you.

If the request is to be played during the reception, I do my best to play it when you are somewhere nearby so you can hear it.

  • I’ll contact you a couple of months before your wedding to discuss the setlist you’d like me to prepare.

  • For Ceremony bookings, I usually play about 4 or 5 songs as your guests get seated. It’s up to you if you want to select these, or relinquish the option to me to play suitable songs during this time.

However, I’ll always ask for you to specify which songs you want for your aisle walk (usually 1 song), signing of papers (for legal ceremonies only – usually 2 songs), and your exit walk (1 song).

Occasionally, people choose 2 separate songs for the aisle walk (e.g. a different song for bridesmaids). This can work really well, but means you get less opportunity for the song(s) to establish themselves. So if in doubt, stick with 1 song for everyone coming down the aisle, but we can always have a discussion about options if you really want a mash-up!

For the cocktail hour reception, I usually play around 20 songs, though I may add or remove a couple of songs, depending on final timings. It’s up to you whether you want to handpick all of these from my repertoire, or just give me an idea of your favorite songs/artists/genres and leave me to choose the rest. Many couples simply ask for a mix of everything during the reception to cater to all ages and music tastes.

  • I include travel to all venues within 50 miles of my base in Tustin, CA at no extra cost. For farther venues, I may need to charge an additional mileage cost to cover my travel time/fees.

Please note that there are some locations where I’d be unable to transport my own piano, such as venues in large cities where the parking/loading zones prevent access, or if a flight is required to attend your wedding. In these scenarios, I would only be able to play at venues where a piano is already conveniently available.

  • Sorry, I do not offer any discounts on my package prices.

  • I’m always very grateful if you are able to include me on your list of supplier meals.

My only dietary requirement is I have a nut allergy, but I am very appreciative of anything you might be able to provide. I will always find an appropriate moment to eat, typically after I’ve finished performing.

  • My style is not generally business-formal, but I’ll always dress smart (i.e. a coat, blazer, or jacket).

However, if you do have a preference, e.g. a specific-colored tie, I can accommodate this – please let me know at the time of booking.

  • If you would prefer additional musician(s) and instrument(s), we also offer the following:

    -Vocalist

    -Violist / Violinist

    -Trumpeter

Rates vary with these additional performers. Please contact me and we can further discuss.
